The Primer de Mayo Day Centre has been the setting for the Cognitio Project, an innovative initiative developed by Suara’s Social Digital Lab, in collaboration with the Terrassa Health Consortium.
The project aims to explore the benefits of immersive reality for people with mild cognitive impairment.
Over several weeks, participants took part in group sessions held in an immersive room set up in the centre’s gym. The space, equipped with surround projection technology, made it possible to work on specific content designed to improve attention, concentration, and other cognitive functions.
The results have been very positive: participants showed a high level of acceptance of the technology, a notable increase in participation, and a significant improvement in several cognitive indicators. Both professionals and users rated the experience very positively, highlighting how visual and auditory immersion enhances motivation and engagement during the activities.
At the Primer de Mayo Day Centre, we want to thank everyone involved in making this project possible, especially the professionals and users of the service, as well as the Social Digital Lab team, who led the initiative and evaluation of the results.
This project reaffirms Suara’s commitment to social innovation, exploring new technological tools that can improve the quality of life and well-being of the people we support.
